Plein Air in Germany

We are very excited to announce the Germany Plein Air Workshop with James Kroner is taking place May 20th through June 1st 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to study plein air in some of the most beautiful locations in this region. All experience levels are welcome, including beginners. Friend or spouse also welcome.

Participants will gain a solid understanding of plein air principles and a practical skill set through an immersive course of direct painting. This is designed to equip the student with the understanding and ability to compose a plein air work from start to finish. James will go in depth to his approach sharing his knowledge and experience, both on a group level, as well as individual instruction tailored to each student's experience level.

Our 2 week painting workshop features 8 painting locations in all and 3 full demos throughout the course. The workshop can accommodate up to 12 painting participants.

This workshop includes all lodging in beautiful Bavarian villas, all transportation including to and from the airport, breakfast daily, Welcome and Departure dinners, a midway home cooked dinner with our host, classroom, and full course instruction with James.
